Abstract

The snowball throwing learning model is a development of the discussion learning model which is part of the cooperative learning model. However, in this model learning activities are arranged in such a way that the teaching and learning process can take place more pleasantly.This study aims to provide an explanation of the application of the Snowball Throwing method in increasing student interest in learning with a research focus that includes (1) To find out the application of the snowball throwing learning method to increase student interest in learning in class 1exp C in fiqh subjects with unclean material at SMA Swasta Galih Agung. (2) To find out the increase in learning interest of class 1exp C students in fiqh subjects on unclean material at Galih Agung Private High School by applying the snowball throwing method. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted Pre-Action, Cycle 1 and Cycle 2. From this action, data was collected and then analyzed to obtain research findings.The findings of this study indicate that (1) the increase in student interest in learning grade 1 exp C at the Private High School Galih Agung Pesantren Darularafah Raya in Lau Bakeri Village in Fiqh lessons on unclean material is marked by an increase in student learning outcomes starting from cycle I to cycle II. (2) At the pre-action stage, the average student learning outcomes obtained were 49.6 with a completeness of 36%. In the first cycle - the average learning outcomes are 53.4 with 52% completeness. (3) While the last in the second cycle - the average student learning outcomes reached 62.2 with 80% completeness. (4) The increase in mastery of student learning outcomes obtained from pre-action to cycle I was 16%, while in cycle I to cycle II the increase in mastery learning outcomes was 28%.
