Abstract

Character education becomes something that is very important to form a quality generation. Character education is one of the tools to guide someone to be a good person, so as to be able to filter out bad influences.This research aims to provide an explanation of the analysis of character values in the book Islamic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti Junior High School Class IX Curriculum 2013, with a research focus that includes (1) What character values are in the subject book Islamic religious education and curriculum ethics 2013 class IX? (2) How to analyze the content of character values in islamic religious education books and curriculum ethics 2013 class IX? (3) Is  The values contained in the Islamic religious education book and the ethics of the 2013 class IX curriculum are adequate competencies?. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of library study research (library research). The data collection method used in this study is a documentation method in the form of books.

The findings of this study show that: 1) The character values contained in the book Islamic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti class IX there are 18 character values. 2) Analysis of each chapter such as opening heart niches, exemplary stories, summaries, and evaluations obtained character values such as religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, creative, independent, social care, and responsibility. 3) The student textbooks analyzed have met or adequately met the competencies required by the learners and have met the requirements set by the National Board of Educational Standards.
