Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research that aims to improve students' understanding of the Arabic language subject of Muhadatsah introductory material in class VI SD Muhammadiyah 37

Tanjung Selamat through the role-playing method. This research was conducted using two cycles, in which each cycle has four stages of activity, namely: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection.  Data  collection  techniques  in  this  study  used  tests,  observations,  documentation,  and interviews. Subjects and locations in this study were class VI students at SD Muhammadiyah 37 Tanjung Selamat, totaling 28 students. Based on the results of the research, the application of the role -playing method can improve students' understanding of the Arabic language lesson, CHAPTER Muhadatsah, introductory material and increase student activity and achievement in the classroom. Student learning outcomes before the application of the role-playing method showed that students who completed 25% were 7 students. The value of students in the first cycle that was completed there were 14 students with a total percentage of 68%. Then in the second cycle of learning outcomes who get a complete score amounted to 24 students with a percentage of 86%. Thus, the use of the role-playing method can be said to have succeeded in increasing students' understanding of the Arabic language lesson in the introductory material.
