Abstract

Islamic education as a formal educational and religious institution has its position regulated in the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003. Historically there are three Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, namely madrasas, schools and pesantren.

To become an independent, professional and autonomous Islamic education institution, Islamic education institutions apply the concept of School Based Management (MBS). Through the autonomous right of an institution to be free to manage its own education in accordance with the desired educational goals, to run its education system independently without being completely dependent on others, as regulated by the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003 article
