BERGURU ISLAM KE BARAT DAN PENGEMBANGAN PERGURUAN TINGGI ISLAM DI INDONESIA

Abstract

The sending of PTKI lecturers to study in the West is motivated to study and explore Islam as a religion that is the object of study in various countries, the renewal of Islam aims to keep Islam in line with the times, the progress  of Western  science and civilization  to open the horizons of Muslims to continue to improve the quality and development of science through the modernization  of Islamic higher education  institutions  from IAIN to UIN. Although  it also raises the pros and cons of sending lecturers to study in the West, some alumni from Western  education  have  changed  the  face  and  system  of  Islamic  higher  education  in Indonesia, including HarunNasution, AzyumardiAzra, Imam Suprayogo, Amin Abdullah, Nur Ahmad FadhilLubis and etc.
