Abstract

Islamic Inheritance Law is a law that regulates the transfer of ownership rights to heirs' inheritance, determines who has the right to become an heir, and their respective shares. Islamic inheritance uses a bilateral, individual system. Inheritance of the Karo Muslim community is inheritance according to patrilineal kinship, namely from the father's line of descent.

This research uses the Normative-Empirical method, which is a method that emphasizes aspects of a deeper understanding of a problem somewhere. Through several references to E-books and books, as well as interviews with Karo Muslim Traditional Leaders, Kalimbubu (respected people) and several Karo Muslim communities in Lau Bakeri Village, Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency. The author concludes that the Karo Muslim community's inheritance distribution system is based on patrilineal kinship with individual and collective systems.

In fact, the prevailing customary law is that the Karo Muslim Inheritance Distribution System in terms of Islamic law has differences. It is this difference that makes the author interested in researching this issue, thoroughly and into a scientific work (Thesis). The people in Lau Bakeri village still adhere to their customs. Judging from Islamic law, those who are entitled to inheritance are people who are related by blood, have marital relations and people who liberate slaves (Al-Wala'). and sunnatullah, but rather refer to customary law.
